Welcome to the Servitors of Sembia Guild on DDO!
Keep us in mind! We're working diligently to enable interactivity on our site! Plus, we want to include relevant information on each of the servers' pages. It'll take a minute, but we're getting there!
Until we get the interactivity up and running, feel free to check out our pages! We will have a bit posted on each of the servers' pages to let prospective guild members know what we're all about, how the site and it's content came about and what we may possibly expect of you. We will also have the guild "Message of the Day" posted here as well as in the guild page in-game. One other thing we will have is the coupon codes and what they give you, so keep coming back and we'll try to have something new up here now and then!
Where the Idea Came From...
Before we played DDO, my friends and I played the pen and paper RPG, Dungeons & Dragons. One of our most memorable campaigns was one we called "The Sembian Campaign." Not very inventive, I know, but it was an amazing game! Every player left the table excitedly talking about the game and what had happened that night. Puns were thrown around relentlessly and shamelessly. We would plan to play for 3 or 4 hours, but end up playing 7 or 8. Here's a quick rundown about the campaign.
Marreanna Longbottom, along with several of her peers, was an orphan who had been sold into servitude to a plantation owner. Once her "time" was served, she was given 100 gold pieces and let go. She and her friends decided to enlist as officers in the Navy of Sembia. 100 gold pieces was what it would cost each of them, so it wasn't a lightly-made decision.
On their first voyage out on The Grond, the captain drank himself to death, leaving the orphans in charge. After getting into a few scuffles, they brought home more profit for Sembia than usual for their ship and were begrudgingly given higher ranking. The Grond was an old boat with 40 half-orcs for rowers. They never really got into combat because the captain was cowardly and refused to let them fight unless absolutely necessary. So, when Marreanna and her friends took over the ship and realized the crew's tendency to wreak havoc at dock, they decided to change things a bit.
The Grond became one of the most feared crews in the Sea of Fallen Stars. They took on pirates of various origins, Thayan wizards, Zentl Keep, Scardale, and the famous Battle of Cormyr. They were unstoppable! Marreanna was offered the rank of Captain and determined to work her way up the ladder. At level 7 or 8, she was asked to join some of the nobles and officers in the Navy for a "commendation." They tried to poison her with Wyvern poison. It failed. They also tried to ambush her outside the tavern. That also failed. She became known as Marreanna "Wyvern" Longbottom and was finally respected, if not liked, in the community.
I hope you have enjoyed the story. We have a guild on every server in DDO. Feel free to contact me if you're interested in joining!
